Did you forget your password? Are you locked out of your account? Has your account been compromised and you can't log in to email or the wireless network? Fortunately, you can regain access to your account. Contact IT Services or 773.702.5800. Once you've regained access, you can make things much simpler for the next time you have an issue by adding a recovery address and phone number to your MyAccount (myaccount.uchicago.edu) profile.
Your recovery address or recovery phone is a non-UChicago email address or a phone number capable of receiving text messages that you register in MyAccount. If you forget your password, you can change it online by using a code sent to your recovery address or recovery phone.
In the event that either you or the University suspects that your CNetID and password or passphrase have been compromised, you will need a means of access that is not dependent on your CNetID and password to make changes to your account. Using compromised University credentials to make changes to your account may put you, your personal information, and the University at risk.
If you have established a recovery address or recovery phone, you will be able to make changes to your password using an authorization code sent to those external contacts. This enhances the security of your account by preventing you from being locked out remotely.
To set up an external contact, log into the MyAccount website. From that page, you can view your current external contacts and add or remove them.
