Cancel a Meeting that Occurs Once

  1. In your Calendar, click on the meeting/appointment you want to delete.
  2. A pop-up window will appear. Select Delete Event.

    If this event is part of a series, you can choose to Delete Occurrence or Delete Series.

    Note:
    The meeting (including any meeting agenda, notes, and attachments) is deleted from Outlook.

Cancel a Meeting that Occurs in a Series

  1. In Calendar, click on the meeting or appointment.
  2. On the Meeting or Appointment Series tab, click the Delete icon (the garbage can).

  3. Choose Delete to delete this occurrence of your appointment or meeting.

    Note: The meeting (including any meeting agenda, notes, and attachments) is deleted from Outlook.

Cancel All Meetings in a Series Before First Meeting Occurs

It is recommended that you cancel an entire meeting series only before any meetings have occurred. Canceling a meeting series removes all meetings, including past and future. This includes any meeting agenda, notes, and attachments that you or the attendees have saved with the meeting item on the calendar.

  1. In Calendar, click any meeting or appointment in the series.
  2. In the Meeting or Appointment tab, then click on the Edit Series option.

  3. You will get a confirmation screen.

  4. Click Delete to confirm.
    Note: This meeting (including any meeting agenda, notes, and attachments) is deleted from Outlook.

Cancel All Future Meetings in a Series

Updating the meeting series end date is the recommended way to cancel the remaining meetings in a series. This process preserves instances of the meeting that have already occurred.

  1. In Calendar, click a meeting or appointment in the series and then click Edit Series, or just double-click any meeting in the series, then click Edit Series in the meeting window.

  2. Once you click Edit Series, you will activate the Recurrence menu.

  3. Click on End Date and then select By, and then enter a date after the last meeting in the series you want to keep.

  4. You have successfully deleted all future meetings in the series.
