If you wish to have students sign in, you will first need to import your Canvas student roster into Poll Everywhere so that it creates Poll Everywhere accounts for each student.

Connect your Canvas Course with Poll Everywhere

1. Log in to your Canvas account (canvas.uchicago.edu), then navigate to your Canvas course.
2. Navigate to Modules.
3. Add a new item to your module.
4. Next, to add Poll Everywhere, select External Tool from the drop-down list.
5. Find and select Poll Everywhere from the list.
6. Select Add Item.
   
   
   
7. Publish the Poll Everywhere link in the module. 
8. Select the published link to access Poll Everywhere. This will sync the canvas course with your Poll everywhere account. 
   Tip: Put your PE link in a general "Introduction" or "Information" module as opposed to a weekly module. This will make it easier for students to find your Poll Everywhere link whenever they need it. 

Sync the Roster in Poll Everywhere

1. Log in to Poll Everywhere.
2. Select Participants from the left-hand side menu. 
3. Select the Courses button.
4. Next, you will see the Courses screen that lists all of the connected courses that you can sync with. Select on the Sync roster button to the right of each course that you wish to manually sync.
5. You can choose to Enable Roster Sync by selecting the toggle button. This will automatically sync the roster every night at approximately 11:00 pm.
